I am a licensed New York attorney, but to be very clear:  I am NOT licensed to give legal advice or practice law in California. I am able to give you guidance and insights about animal services investigations based on my years of experience. It is not, however, to be considered legal advice. 

In addition, because a person is not required to be a licensed CA attorney to represent people like you at dangerous dog hearings, each of the Animal Services Departments have permitted me to represent people like you at hearings. This representation is not, however, legal representation. 

If, however, your case will be going to Superior Court instead of being heard by an administrative hearing officer, I can refer you to Ryther Law Group, with whom I have been contracted to work on animal rights projects and cases of all kinds since 2017. If you wish to appeal an administrative hearing, in most jurisdictions the appeal goes to Superior Court, so I will not be able to represent you. If you wish, you may ask that I remain involved in your case for continuity and that I provide Ryther Law Group with litigation support (such as drafting briefs), as long as you understand I will be supervised continually by a Ryther attorney and will be operating only in ways that are fully in compliance with the CA state bar and all relevant statutes.
